Emigo Midi Dress

If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I’ve always loved the beach and there’s nowhere else other than in Asia where you can find white sandy beaches, where the sand feels like flour and making sandcastles feels like baking a huge pastry right under your feet. Singapore may be a port city, but we don’t exactly have beautiful beaches. That’s why, whenever we get an opportunity like this, it’s almost definitely to a beach somewhere else we go.

The very first beach we fell in love with was Bamboo Island back in 2009, off the coast of Ko Phi Phi Don in Thailand. Since then, every beach we’ve been to has instinctively been measured against this gem of a paradise. In this shoot, we travelled to Ko Samet, also located in Thailand but much further up north and along the eastern coast.

The dress was a random find during a recent trip to Hanoi. Emigo is a Vietnamese brand, which I’m so glad to have discovered during the few days in the city. If I ever return to Vietnam, I’m definitely looking out for them again. This dress is so comfy and not only does it elongate the torso, it also covers the knees and makes you look ultra feminine. It’s stretchy and body hugging, but it’s not suffocatingly tight. I found the link to this exact dress on their website but I’m not sure they deliver to anywhere else in the world.

The sandals featured today are also one of my latest buys and because they are wide fit with a low heel, they are so comfy! If anything, they are my current staples. I wear them to work, to brunch, to the beach… and at less than S$40 online (free shipping over S$50, link above), they are such a steal! I kind of want to buy another pair so that when this one gets worn too much and dies, I’d still have a brand new one to wear. Do you do that too?

Finally, my bag. The one that came with the bikini I bought. This beach bag is made of neoprene and is perfect for the beach. It holds random things like my wallet, hotel key, sunblock, shades, lip balm and phone. Plus, who can resist that pink shade?
